Mary was a devoted wife, mother and sister. She loved her girls, and after her husband passed it was always, "Mary and her girls." She enjoyed her "sister time" when she went out with her sisters.
She was an amazing woman who served the Lord, was a faithful servant, and a woman of prayer. She served as the Secretary Treasurer at Templo Emmanuel Assembly of God for 40 years. She was a faithful member and very active in the various church activities. She will be missed. Mary also worked in the accounting office of JCPenney in Brownsville for over 20 years from the late 1960s to 1989.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and CNA's at DHR Health in Edinburg for the care and compassion they showed their mother.
Mary is survived by her daughter Norma Garza; and her daughter Michelle Garza; her sister Rosie (George) Waldhelm, her sister Mireya Salgado and her sister Katy Salgado; her aunt Maria R. Gonzalez.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Heriberto E. Garza; her mother Maria Garcia; her sister Blanca Barrientos; her brother Luis Medrano and her brother Enrique Salgado.
Mary Garza also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins to cherish her memory.
