Eduardo J. Gomez

Known to most as Eduardo Jacinto Gomez, but to many more as simple “Moe” or “Gomez”. He came into this world on January 20, 1946 and lived a very long and prosperous life. My Father, This Familys’ beloved Patriarch was a Rambling Man for sure but to so many he was simply your "Go To Guy". The most caring, loving, strong and compassionate type. He spent his life learning and earning. Always setting goals, working towards them and crushing them like it was noone's business. He was the hardest working man in the room. Always putting others before himself. He worked many years in service of others. Working for the City Of Brownsville as a City Transportation Driver for the Metro Bus Station servicing the citizens of Brownsville. He worked as a Long Haul Truck Driver with Seahorse Transportation for many years servicing the needs of others throughout the entire country as he made countless road trips delivering food, supplies and industrial equipment. He served his country, the place he called home by answering the call of duty and serving 21 years Faithfully and Honorably in the United States Army and the National Guard. He was a True Patriot. He bled Red, White and Blue. After serving during the Vietnam War, he returned home a wounded man, one who fought not only his enemies in combat but his own enemies. The monsters and the darkness that lay in wait in his mind. NOT many know that feeling, not many will ever go through or experience that throughout their lives. But those Brave Men and Women who serve both past and present can relate to the trials and tribulations they go though during their service. Despite all of that, He was Above Brave. He was A Fighter, hands down the strongest person I’ve ever known. And although he was a man of few words and sentiments, he always fought tirelessly to ensure everyone around him was good to go before he was because that’s just who he was. Selfless. Always in service of others. He never asked for anything in return, never complained, never required more than just the basic essentials. He was OUR ROCK, a Man made of Steel always there to be the one you cried too, the one you vented too, the one to catch you when you fell and the one to rescue you from your life messes when you had one. He was a clown in many ways, always the Jokester, Always the one to make one laugh in times of sadness and darkness. He Was That Bright Light at the End Of the Tunnel.

He was a Son, A Brother, A Grandfather, A Great Grandfather, A Comrade, A Mentor, A Soldier and A Friend to All.

But most importantly He was a Husband, A Father and a HERO. Our HERO.

Rest in Peace Dad, Rest Easy Knowing You Prepared Us well.
