Andres Garza was in the shrimping industry for over 50 years in Port Isabel. He began as a shrimper then owning a fleet of shrimp boats and several rental properties.
Andres was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Garza Moya and Amada Perez Sosa; son, Jesus; brother, Guadalupe Garza; 2 sisters, Socorro and Maria.
Andres is survived by his loving wife, Paz Garza; 4 children, Lupita, Juan Andres, Jesus and Adrian of Brownsville.
Also surviving him is his first spouse, Magdalena Garza with children; Emma Garza, Alma Deckard Garza, Claudia Garcia, Dora Vega and Andy Garza, Jr.
He is also survived by another son, Gilberto Rodriguez; 2 sisters, Juana Morales, Ma. De Jesus Hurtado; brother, Ramon Garza; 5 grandchildren, Tanya and Thomas Deckard, Monica Garza, Andy Garza III and Victoria Garza
Visitation will be held from 10 am – 9 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2011 with a Holy Rosary at 7 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista Burial Park.
Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 am on Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell, Brownsville, Texas.
Interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be his good friends, Jose Humberto Garza, Gilberto Sanchez, Juan Delgadillo, Orlando Ochoa, Eddie Rivera and Faustino Amaro.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pedro Rodriguez and Federico Chavez.
