Margaret, or Peggy as her friends knew her, lived a long and interesting life. Born in Glasgow in 1932, she spent her childhood in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Just prior to WW2 she returned to England via Palestine through the Suez Canal.
She witnessed the Blitz, lived In Aberdeen, and Maryhill Barracks. At the end of the war, she was in Glasgow where at the age of sixteen she met her future husband, Allan at a local dance. Married at nineteen she emigrated to Canada to start a new life.
As new immigrants, she and Allan overcame difficulties and began a family. Working hard they progressed from rooming houses to their own home. While working at McGill she interacted with students and helped a number complete their studies to impact Canada and the world.
Retiring in the late nineties, she and her husband travelled through Europe and Asia. They continued to travel until stopped by COVID.
Taken by cancer, she is survived by her husband of seventy-two years. Her legacy is two children, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, she asked for donations to be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
Sorely missed, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother
