Born March 13, 1929 in Wadsworth, Ohio, to William Bentley and Lorene Neal Harrison (nee May), he moved to the area 34 years ago from Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, a district manager for Nabisco, where he retired after 27 years and was a long time member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and former sunday school teacher.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Peggy Harrison; son: Robert W. Harrison of Kansas; daughters: Lorene Harrison Beck of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Alexis Harrison of Spring Hill, Florida, Karen Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky and Angela Melzer of Florence, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Brandon Hamilton, Alex Johnson, Francesca Beck and Sebastian Beck; nephew: David Harrison; nieces: Debbie Knight and Dana Coyle. He was predeceased by his parents, beloved brother, William Neal Harrison of Louisville, Kentucky and infant brother, Charles Bentley Harrison.
Bob was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, his savior, becoming a born again Christian in his early 20s. He lived his life with the assurance of a heavenly home and walking on the "streets of gold." We have no doubt he is enjoying this blessed assurance today. He never missed an opportunity to tell someone God loves you and so do I. He was a witness to so many, never wanting to miss a chance to share the salvation of Jesus Christ. He was a true friend to so many, a stranger to none. He had a sense of humor like no other and would take every chance to joke about anything and everything, quick witted was he and always kept those around laughing
He will be forever missed, loved as we are left to cherish his precious memory.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Spring Hill Baptist Church, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at Florida National Cemetery, with full military honors.
