He was a near life-long Brooksville resident, trusted business owner, strong community social group member, congregate of the First United Methodist Church, and faithful, loving family man.

John went on to establish and own Mason Ford Tractor in Brooksville (1957), set several yearly sales records, and was often honored and praised by his peers. John continued working until his age of 85. John married Marilyn L. Oyler on September 29, 1961 and raised their family until her death in 2013.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn and his daughter, Jill McKee. He is survived by his children, Linda Ray, Dee Dee Eagan (Tom), John Mason Jr., and Robert Mason; and ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
