PEYTON, James Lee, Sr., age 80, of Brooksville, FL died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Suncoast Hospice in St. Petersburg. He was born on July 10, 1934 to Clyde and Bessie Peyton in Logan County West Virginia and settled in Brooksville in 1970. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War and was the owner of Jim Peyton Motors. He was a Mason, member of the Lions Club, Rotary and past President of the Shriner's Club. He served as director of the Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife: Mary Peyton of Brooksville, FL; son: James Peyton, Jr., daughters: Terry Hadsock; Cheryl Barry; brothers: Charles Peyton, William Peyton, Larry Peyton, Clyde Peyton, Jr., and Tony Peyton; sisters: Niawana Pippens, Arnetta Muecke and Margaret Myers; 5 grandchildren: Jeffery Pickett, Jason Pickett, Shad Peyton, John Barry, Jr., and Nancy Barry; 4 great grandchildren; Jeffery Pickett, Jr., Madelyn Pickett, Olivea Pickett and Ireland Peyton. Visitation will be 5-7:00pm, Monday, July 6, 2015 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. Funeral services will conducted at 1:00pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville. Interment will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens in Spring Hill, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors.
