James Carl Carlson

CARLSON, James Carl, age 87, of Brooksville, FL died Sunday, July 17, 2016. He was the founder and owner of Carlson Boat Company and Carlson Tractor and Trailer of Brooksville, FL. He was a member of Old Timer’s Rodeo and Wild West Show Club, Inc., and was the winner of Best All Around Rodeo Championship in PA in 1948 and worked on a ranch in Taylor Falls, Montana. He toured with Red Riders Rodeo and worked with Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Hub Hubbell and the original Lone Ranger. He is survived by companion: June Delo; son and daughter-in-law: Carey and Cheri Carlson of Brooksville, FL; daughters and son-in-law: Kathleen and Wayne Waichunas  of Clearwater, FL; Christine Carlson of Revere, MA; brother: Gordon Kitson of Savannah, GA; sister: Sonja Razey of Sago, Idaho; 4 grandchildren: Will Carlson, Clayton Carlson, Jack Carlson and Ryan Piermatteo. A Gathering of family and friends will be from 5-7:00pm, Monday, July 25, 2016 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel.
