DARRAH, Edward F., age 80, of Brooksville, FL died Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Earth lost a great man, but heaven gained a precious one. Ed was a loving and devoted husband, dad and pappy. Family was everything to him and he was happiest when surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was born in Doylestown, PA and came to the area 11 years ago from Coudersport, PA. He was the owner of a pool maintenance company and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Darrah was a member of the Anchor Baptist Church and the Cloverleaf Veterans Association. He loved reading, fishing, the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Catherine Priscilla Darrah of Brooksville, FL; son Grant (Janice) Darrah; daughters: Christine (Warren) Keller; Peggy (Dusty) Phillips; Dolly (Warren) Whittaker; sister: Mary Serratore; 8 grandchildren: 15 great-grandchildren: Interment will be at 1:30pm Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00pm, Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at the Anchor Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Anchor Baptist Church.
