Desde la distancia, pensé en buscarte y he descubierto que ya no estás más... Como me apena no haberte buscado en los anteriores 20 años. Que grandes recuerdos me llevo de ti y de nuestras correrías por Nueva York,  de nuestras peleas y de lo gran persona que eras. Tu y tus hermanos me mostrásteis una nueva forma de ver la amistad. Qué ostia...como decimos en España, te has ido demasiado pronto!

Been there twice. Food was awesome. The guy had a lasting impression on the experience. I remember thinking - what a nice guy and he's the owner too. His accommodating ways and pleasant demeanor added to the overall experience. It is unfair and untimely for an extremely good soul.

He positively touched so many lives. They need to figure out how to re-ope this restaurant in his honor.  


My daughter, wife and I are very saddened  by this loss-- a loss for all who knew Martin at Coco Roco, for the Park Slope neighborhood,, and of course above all for his familly and close friends. He always conveyed warmth and frienship to us as we ate the great food from Peru
 The world will be missing this wonderful person. He will always be remembered with affection  here on earth as  he basks in the Eternal Presence of God in Heaven.

He was such a sweet soul and always greeted you with a smile and so proud of his daughter. When he talked about her you can feel the love. I never met her but when we went to his restaurant for lunch or dinner he always mentioned her.  I can’t believe he is gone.  I am so so so sorry.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Martin’s passing. Ever since Cocoroco opened its doors, Martin has been an important part of our lives. We have spent many happy hours there. Martin always made us feel special and greeted us with a big smile. Our children grew up eating at their table and continue enjoying their time there in adulthood. Martin helped us celebrate many milestones. He , Fernando and the whole family are in our hearts and thoughts. Love, Joelle Reilly 

I have been a longtime patron of Coco Rocco and I was devastated to learn of Martin’s transition. Such a wonderful Soul. A few times, when I would forget my wallet or all my cards, he would trust me to pay later. I will always remember the community he built around the restaurant with his energy.

I knew Martin since he and his brothers,Fernando y Albino opened Coco Roco. A lovely relationship developed. I  went to his daughter's birthday.  I met his wonderful mother and dad.
It is with deep sadness that I have found out he will no longer be sharing his smile and good humor with us.He will be missed.

Martin was always smiling, always happy!  He was so generous and an amazing host, so proud if his restaurant. I'll never forget his smile and his signature scarf! Descanse en paz. You will be missed by everyone. ❤

My husband and I are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Martin. We send our condolences to the family.

We have been patrons of Coco Roco since it opened in the 1990s. Our grown children still want to visit when they are home. Martin always remembered them and checked in and asked about their well-being. Along with the great meal, it made our time together more memorable . 

We are thankful for Martin, he made everything special. Blessings.
