Several years ago, Josephine e-mailed me a picture she had of our fourth grade class at P.S. 248 in Brooklyn, taught by the strict, Mrs. L.Y. Levin. There was little Josephine sitting so perfectly in her seat with her perennial smile. 1960. I suddenly realized I had known Josephine for a long time and we both lived in the Marlboro Projects. 
To me, Josephine was always a steady, friendly, good presence and that held true when she married my best friend, Tony Calabro. 
Tony and I go way back to Seth Low JHS and Lafayette HS when we were in theatre and music together. I remember him hanging out with Josephine and it was then that I realized that they were going to end up together. I did not see them much over the years after I left NYC in 1980 and I always kept in touch with them and visited them with my family during our trips from Las Vegas. 
I am so gratified at the happiness and love Josephine had with Tony and her family. I always like Josephine and I can only wish her everlasting love and say to my friend Tony, "You had it made." All the best!

Dear Nicole 
You are truly the most beautiful person that I have ever met.  I mean that sincerely.  From what you’ve told me about your mom,  I can clearly say you are your mother’s daughter.  You are her legacy.  Well done Josephine!!!  That legacy will live on in you and your two.  As I’ve said time and again, she will forever be part of you. 

You carry her heart.  You carry it in your heart.  

I love you so much my friend.  You & your entire family are in my thoughts and my prayers.  

Dear cousins Tony, Nicole, Regan, Maria, Giuseppe and your respective families. We are so saddened by the death of dear Giuseppina. We all remember her as a sweet and loving person and we regret not having been physically closer in the most difficult moments of her life. 
A big and affectionate hug and condolences to all of you from Massimo, Maria, Rosa and Chiara. 

Dear Regan, Sending condolences to you and your whole family. I can see the resemblance between you and your beautiful mom.
