Eleanor Mirabile passed away on December 27, 2020 in Flemington, New Jersey. She was beloved daughter to the late Rose and Luigi Tucci, and dear sister to the late Anna (Steve) and Millie (Sal). She joins her late husband Salvatore “Sam” and daughter Carol in heaven.
She is survived by her daughter Roseann (Bob) and her grandchildren Edward (Michele), Teresa (Dennis), Alana (Jason), and Bobby; and her great grandchildren Rylee, Ella, EJ, Mia, and Salvatore.
Born on November 21, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, Eleanor worked as a seamstress sewing wedding gowns where she met two of her life long friends, the late Anne and the late Josie.
Eleanor met her husband Salvatore “Sammy” at the Acadia in Manhattan when he asked her for a dance. They never owned a credit card as they believed if you couldn’t afford it, you shouldn’t have it!
She loved her family and would “pray for them every night.” She had a great sense of humor and made her family laugh with her creative crafts including popcorn people, gum wrapper sailboats, and “dirty” pot holders. She was an amazing cook known for her eggplant parmigiana, homemade manicotti, and spiedini.
She enjoyed her Word Search puzzles, coloring books, and baking delicious cookies.
Eleanor treated everyone like family and often had the room laughing. She will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
