Stanley M. Davis, of Brookline, died peacefully at home on the 5th of March, 2022. For 40 years, he was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Goldenberg) Davis, and the father of Richard and Leonard Davis, stepfather to Michael Braverman, Lisa Predella, and Hilary Rochelle, and had 10 grandchildren.
A kind and gentle mustachioed giant, Stan grew up in the Bronx in a three generation household, and graduated from PS 95 and De Witt Clinton H.S. He graduated from Brandeis University and earned a Masters and Doctorate from Washington University in St Louis, MO. Stan was a professor at The Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, and Boston University. He left academia to write, consult, and lecture around the world. His 15 books were translated into more than a dozen languages. As a futurist, speaker, and consultant, he traveled the world advising Fortune 500 companies, heads of state, and a variety of organizations.
Stan was a lifelong swimmer who swam in any temperature or body of water. Also an avid needle pointer, he produced original artworks and recreated classical paintings and favorite landscapes. A lifelong learner, Stan was active at The Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement as both a student and instructor. Stan’s memoir Tall Tales reflected his great physical and intellectual stature. Combining his self-reflective nature and big picture thinking, he mixed biographical stories with poetry and fiction.
