Randi (Kosowsky) Brightman , age 65, of Austin, TX, formerly of Houston, TX, Edinburgh, Scotland, and Sharon, MA, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
For 43 years, she was the beloved wife of Stuart M. Brightman, who mourns her loss deeply. Randi was a loving mother to David & Omaira Brightman, and Lauren & Ayal Cusner. She was an adored grandmother to Michael, Zachary, and Sydney Brightman, and Audrey, Ellie, and Mia Cusner.
Born to the late Leo & Charlotte (Greenberg) Kosowsky, Randi was the dear sister of Lex Kosowsky and Beth Weiss. Her vibrant spirit and warmth touched everyone she met; she never met a stranger and was known for her incredible resilience in the face of life’s challenges, including her over 40-year battle with multiple sclerosis.
She met her husband, Stu, in 1977 at a new student event for the University of Pennsylvania, where they both attended and where Randi studied physical therapy. In her time as a pediatric physical therapist, she received great joy and sense of purpose from bettering the lives and advancing the development of her young patients.
Randi’s love for her family was unparalleled. She cherished her time spent with them, whether traveling, enjoying meals together, or watching her grandkids in their respective sports. She had a special fondness for her time living in Scotland, and loved the opportunities she had to return to Europe for family vacations. Randi enjoyed dining out, sampling wines, and creating lasting memories in her homes in Austin and Virginia, both located just minutes from her children and grandchildren.
