September 21, 1950 – January 30, 2014
This is a picture of David Shore as a warrior fighting mental illness.
Although a warrior, he loved to make merry and loved life. He thought that the grounds of Tewksbury were just beautiful and always pointed out how the sky looked outside the window.
He appreciated beauty, as he found it in many things, and many ways. Like Bob and Neil’s music. Anna Frank’s bravery. Einstein’s genius and Freud’s ideas about the mind.
To describe Dave you could use words like kind, caring, funny, generous, and a little “bossy”. Although he wanted as many people as possible to like him, he was smart enough to have learned through the years, that some would just never understand mental illness.
On his new journey there will be no meanness, illness, misunderstanding, or suffering.
So when you have a great day, a peaceful night, or just a good feeling, you’ll know that David Shore wished that for you.
