Pellegrini, Ann Helen
(nee Meilenner) March 24, 1934. Called to eternal life on March 3, 2023, at age 88. Beloved wife of the late Carl A. Pellegrini. Loving mother of Carl J. (Sara) Pellegrini, Maria S. (Tom) Lazar and James A. (Donna) Pellegrini. Adored Nonna of Tom, Kathryn, Caroline, Alex, Antonia, Josef, David and Victoria. Dear sister of Elaine (Jerry) Fisher and Al Hentz. Preceded in death by siblings, Joseph (Dorothy) Meilenner and Mary Hentz. Further survived by brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Ann will also be missed by her grand-dog, Daisy.
It is not a cliche to say that Ann (Anna to family, or Nonna to 8 grandchildren) was beloved by all who met her-family, friends, neighbors. She was a trailblazer: as a young school teacher she traveled from Ireland to Egypt with two other teachers at a time when women could rarely travel safely alone. She was a loving wife of 43 years to Carl, and mother to her 3 children who learned that they (like her) could do anything. She was a gifted artist who designed Christmas ornaments and drew delightfully unique cards featuring her grandchildren every year. She was an avid gardener whose vegetables and herbs prospered. She was a faithful friend and kept in regular touch with friends and relatives. She made everyone who met her better, and she will be missed by all whose lives she touched for good. She was funny, sweet, fierce, sarcastic, kind, and fearless. Ann is finally at rest and has joined her soulmate and husband, Carl, and all the other angels in Heaven ever after. Her memory will surely be eternal.
