Larry Lee Dobrinski, 75, of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Skyview of Bridgeport. At his request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Bridgeport Church of Christ with Pastor Jonathan Seng officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery.
Larry was born on October 15, 1941 to Naomi and Ernie Dobrinski of Bridgeport, NE. He attended school in Bridgeport while doing so he also loved helping his grandfather Bobby Brown out on the ranch.
Larry worked for several farmers in the area during his earlier years. Once his father Ernie was injured he went to work for the county for approx. 15 years. He also ran his own construction business part time. He then worked for Western Sugar after that he reopened his construction business full time along with his brother Dennis. After closing the construction company Larry then purchased a semi truck and became a self employed truck for hire. Larry in a previous marriage had three children, Vickie, Becki, and Danny. Larry was also a long time member of the Church of Christ.
Larry met his wife Eileen (Burt) Dobrinski while working at Western Sugar. They were married on 10-27-01 but were together 10 years prior to marriage. Larry’s other passions were, hunting, demolition derbies, and playing around on his antique John Deere Tractors. In his later years Larry and Eileen took on the responsibility of raising their 6 month old great grandson Blake. Besides Eileen, Blake become the other light in his life. He adored his great-grandson Blake who is now 9 ½ years old. Blake never failed to bring a smile to Larry’s face or a warm hug for grandpa.
Larry is survived by the following: Wife Eileen Dobrinski, Great Grandson Blake Dobrinski, Brother Dennis (Vicki) Dobrinski, Children Vickie Morton, Becky Addelman, Danny Dobrinski, Stepchildren Paul Carlson, Melissa Shembab, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Naomi & Ernie Dobrinski, sisters Dixie (Dobrinski) Garton, Patty (Dobrinski) Schick and Barbara Dobrinski.
