Born in Kannapolis, North Carolina, April 29, 1921, to the late Guy Corbett Donaldson and Anna Turbyfill Donaldson Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the” love of his life” Ruth Stiller Donaldson, brothers G.C. Donaldson, Jr., and George Lewis Donaldson.
Survived by sons Walter G. Donaldson, Jr. (Elizabeth Martin) and Michael Edward Donaldson, daughter Delores Elaine Donaldson, grand-daughter Amy Nelson (Victor) and grand-son J.T. Donaldson, great-granddaughters Shannon Bornholt and Holly Johnson, great-great grandson Jordan Richards and great great granddaughter Brayleigh Bornholt and numerous nieces and nephews.
An avid golfer, fisherman, and sports enthusiast, he officiated at high school and college basketball and football games in the mid-state for many years. Retired from Dupont after 35 years of service. He served in the US Army from August 14, 1942, until honorably discharged November 26, 1945.

Visitation will be at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, on Monday, December 15 from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8 pm. Private family interment on Tuesday, December 16.
