A year and a day and I can't help that I still look for you. Every time I pass the place where you used to live near me, how we would run into each other, or when I see the boys, I expect you to be in the crowd, saying "hey Auntie." I miss you but you are not forgotten. You left a lasting impression on my heart.

I can't believe it's been a year since you got your wings.  I miss you more than words can say.  You were the joy of my life.  My only child.  I know you're shining down on me from heaven and that you are at peace and no longer in pain.  You went through a lot but through it all you always smiled and found joy in life.   I know you are surrounded by family and you're all taking care of each other.  I went today to visit you and put flowers 🌺 on your grave, but I know you're not there cause the sun shone so bright 🌞 letting me know you're ok.  I love ❤️ you and we'll be together again, so save a place for me.  Momma

We called him "Spanky".   He called me  Auntie.  He knew I was his cousin but he loved calling me auntie like the rest of my nephews who he liked hanging out with. Whenever I saw him, I knew I was going to be greeted with, "hey auntie" and a big hug whether it was at a family function, in a store, or on the street. Spanky never missed an opportunity to hug me and he and his hugs will be greatly missed.
