Rueben M. Lewis

Rueben (Rudy) M. Lewis was born to Rev. Rueben Lewis and Agatha James Lewis on September 8, 1943 at Burrell Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.

Rudy grew up in Roanoke, VA and graduated from Lucy Addison High School Class of ‘63. After graduation he went to Kentucky to study Computer Science upon completion of his studies; then he moved to Washington, DC. Rudy worked for the District of Columbia Government for a period of time and he also ran for a council seat in the District of Columbia. He was an entrepreneur in various area always using his computer expertise.

He was a member of United House of Prayer for All People where he active in various organization at the church and his beloved Paradise Kitchen. He was very proud of serving at the Church and participating in the various activities until his declining health.

Those left to rejoice in his memory are his Sister Barbara L. Barron; son Damon Gatewood; two Nieces: Rae Miller and Nicole Hickok and a host of family and friends. Rueben was presided in death by his Father Rev. Lewis, mother Agatha Lewis.
