Rosa Jean Howard

Rosa J. Howard was born on February 18, 1948 to the late father Robert McKnight and mother Evelyn McKnight. She was one of second children out of four. She had one brother Robert McKnight and sisters Inez McFadden, and Rose Ann Smith. On Monday July 27, 2020, she was called to rest after a long illness.

She was educated in the public school system of Lincoln High School in Sumter, South Carolina.

She was baptized in New Birth Baptist Church. She met and later married life-long partner, Allen R. Howard Sr. for 55 years. They left the city of South Carolina, and relocated to Washington, DC.

She was employed at DC General Hospital where she was employed for 20 years before retiring. She resided in Seat Pleasant until her death.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard had 11 grandchildren, Xavier T. Howard, Brandon Sartor, Dazhane Howard, Ashley Attaway, Andre Attaway, Trevon William's, Malik Howard, Ikea T. Howard, Maurice Howard Jr., Allen Howard III, and Niyah Howard.

Mrs. Howard leaves to mourn, one daughter-in-law Sarina Howard, 5 great grandchildren Aydn Matthews, Andriel Matthews, Mayshyn Howard, Noamaisyn Howard. She left behind 5 children; 3 daughters Beverly Howard, Jamella Howard, Linda Howard and 2 sons Allen Howard Jr. and Maurice Howard.

She has a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. She was a very loving and caring woman and she would have done anything for her family. She will definitely be missed, may the Lord bless her and keep her until we meet again.
