Mervin Alonzo Snead departed this life on Sunday, November 13th, 2022, on a cruise vacation between Spain and Bermuda.
He was born in Washington, DC to the late Robert Lee Snead Sr and Carrie Linda Snead. He was preceded in death by one brother Willie Lewis Gibbs. He leaves to mourn him two daughters Angela (Earl) Robinson and Frances (Frederick) Morgan, six grandchildren, one brother Robert Lee Snead Jr, one sister Mrs. Essie Cooper Spencer, sister-in-law Mrs. Willmatyne Gibbs and a significant friend Kimberly Thorpe. Mervin was previously married to Shirley Claiborne Snead and Gwendolyn Robinson Snead.
At an early age Mervin accepted Christ and was baptized by Reverend Davenport at Peace Baptist Church. Mervin attended John Burroughs Elementary, Taft Junior High and Mc Kinley High Schools in Washington DC and served in the DC National Guard. He was employed by the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department for 42 Years.
In addition, he leaves behind a host for family and friends to grieve his loss.
