Kenneth David Watson (Kenny) was born October 29, 1948 in Washington, D.C. He was the son of the late Jerome Ignatius White, Jr. and Celestine Mary Tyler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bluitt Karen Watson and by his sisters, Konetta White Dowling, Diane C. Cooper, and Jean Tyler. He attended D.C. Public Schools and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Washington, D.C.
Kenny started his law enforcement career as a Police Cadet and then became a Police Officer where he patrolled the 5th District in Northeast, Washington, D.C. Upon passing the sergeant’s examine, he was transferred to the 2nd District in Northwest, D.C. He transferred again to the sex crimes division at D.C. Police Headquarters where he retired several years later. Overall, he had a total of 20 plus years with the Metropolitan Police Department. After retirement he served in the District government and finally at the Federal Reserve Board as a Building Escort.
Kenny married the love of his life, Bluitt Karen Watson, on October 16, 1982. From this union they had two children, Kallia Michelle and Kenneth David, Jr. He had an infectious personality, always telling jokes and stories that no one believed. He loved photography, fishing, computers, and guns and pursued each of them with a spirit of excellence. He was a committed husband and father.
Kenny leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Kallia M. Watson and Kenneth D. Watson, Jr.; grandchildren, Khalil Watson and LaShay Long; three sisters, Alicia Moore (James), Teresa Jones and Denise Tyler; one brother Michael Tyler (Deborah); one uncle, Gerald Watson, one aunt, Lorraine Saunders, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
