Johnny Earl Bunn

Johnny was born on February 8, 1952 to Dora Bunn Lee and the late Richard Cherry. He accepted Christ at an early age at Red Hill Baptist Church in Whitakers, NC. He was educated in Edgecombe County and graduated from Phillips High School in Battleboro, NC in 1970.

After graduation, Johnny relocated to Washington D.C. where he was united in marriage to the late Barbara Jean Rodgers and to this union two sons and one daughter were born.

Johnny was employed over 30 years and retired from Ottenburg Bakery in 2013.

He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean Rodgers and son Corey Barns.

Johnny leaves to cherish his mother Dora Lee of Washington, D.C., sons Antjuan Bunn, Gerald Bunn (Kim), Derrick Courtney (Crystal), and daughter Bretanya McCoy (Michael) he had seven grand children and three great-grand children. His siblings, brothers Rochester Bunn of Washington D.C., Edward Lee of Maryland, and Walter Lee of Washington, D.C. Three sisters, Shirley Watson of Maryland, Mary Bunn of Washington D.C., and Gloria Lee of Washington D.C. One Aunt Doris Knight (Patrich) Scotland Neck, NC. He is also survived by extended family, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
