Emerson Lee Sutton son of the late Dorothy Sutton and Fredrick Sutton Sr. was born on January 28, 1953 in the District of Columbia. To others Emerson was given the name Sonny because of his big smile & the joy he brought to them. At an early age Sonny had a passion for drawing, keeping up with the latest trends, and especially listening to music. On April 4, 1981 who knew that Emerson would marry his lovely wife Pamela, the girl who lived behind his home for so many years. He gave Pam two beautiful daughters on June 17, 1982 Marlena Michelle Ford-Bey and again on July 28,1985 Shawn Lynette Sutton who proceeds him now. As well as his five grandchildren Simiyon, Samaiah, Nobel Ford-Bey, Starr Escoffery, & August Vann. Emerson also has a loving & wonderful son-in-law Moab Ford-Bey & seven siblings who he cherished dearly: Frederick Jr. “Ricky”, the late Vanessa Gail “Gail”, Timothy “Timmy”, Steven, Donna Marie “Donnie”, Donald Maurice “Don”, & Patricia Ann “Pat”.He also showed great gratitude & love towards his mother-in-law Muriel L Wilkerson & his late father-in-law John W. Wilkerson Sr. For many years Emerson worked in Construction & in his later years he finally worked towards his passion his love for art. During Emerson spare time he enjoyed gardening, listening to jazz music for many hours, playing with his daughters and grandchildren & spending time with his wife. Emerson was a jack of all trades from drawing, to being the local handyman to speaking about the word of God. He was a comforter to anyone who needed him or would listen to him. He had his own way of talking to people to make them feel at ease from talking about the Bible to Current Events. He will truly be missed! He touched so many hearts from his family, friends & acquaintances.
