Eleanor Hill Valentine, left this life on February 8, 2017 at her long-time home at the Residences of Thomas Circle. Born in Manassas, Virginia in 1908, she was the eldest child of Leslie Pinckney Hill and Jane Clark Hill. Eleanor grew up on the campus of Cheyney College, where her father was President, with her five sisters: Hermione(Logan), Natalie (Nelson), Elaine (Snowden), Mary (Tucker) and Emily. She is predeceased by all of her sisters, except Mary. She is also predeceased by her beloved husband, Clifford Valentine. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Eleanor was a life-long learner and the author of thousands of poems. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Mrs. Valentine will be buried in a private service at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery on February 25th.
