Chanel Renee Williams, transitioned to eternal life on September 26, 2018. She was called home to be with our Lord and Savior. She was born in Washington DC and graduated from DC Public Schools. She was born to Renee Lakisha Williams and Alvin Durham on March 4, 1983. Chanel worked as certified nursing assistant at Deanwood Rehab and Wellness Center. She was well loved by all the staff and patients. She was member of Kingdom Christian Ministry and loved to sing gospel music. She sang for various churches throughout the years.
Chanel’s love for people and music was extraordinary and unique. Chanel could sing for hours and enjoyed performing in various praise and worship groups. She was an excellent homemaker and cared deeply for everyone. You could catch her always smiling and being the life all the family gatherings and other special occasions. She loved going to live shows, to the beach and her family’s school and sport functions. It was no doubt; her presence will always be felt amongst her family and friends.
Chanel was preceded in death by her grandparents Macon and Bertha Williams and her stepdad Leon M. Smith. She is survived by her mom and dad Renee Williams and Alvin Durham, three beautiful children Quincey Edward Williams, Jada Marie Aside, and Athena Renee Williams; three sisters Tonya Hinton, Cherrell Williams, Cordelia Williams and two brothers Richard Williams, Reginald Williams; a host of nieces, nephews and cousin who loved her dearly. There is a special love for her uncle Honorable Charles (Anita) Walton; 1st cousin Aquila Ledbetter; devoted friend Chanel Preacher.
