Kitty was born in Washington DC on July 31, 1942, to Elizabeth Scott and William Mansfield.
Kitty graduated from McKinley High School in Washington DC in June 1960.
Kitty attended Howard University in Washington DC and received her, BS DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY” in 1967 and a “DEGREE OF MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK”, on May 9, 1981.
Kitty served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1977 to 1984. Her assignments were Personnel and Finance Section (processing military personnel files of enlisted members of the Reserve Unit) and Social Work Officer WRAMC (providing social services and counseling to Army personnel hospitalized at Walter Reed Hospital) and received an Honorable Discharge.
Kitty worked as a Social Worker for Washington DC Government from 1967 until retirement.
Kitty is survived by her sisters: Cheryl Mansfield-Egans and Jacqueline Mansfield; her nephews: Steven Smallwood, James Smallwood, and Jonathan Mansfield. Kitty is also survived by numerous cousins.
Kitty will be remembered by family and friends as a person with a caring heart and strong personality. She will be missed by her family and friends because she was truly one of a kind.
