Thomas Patrick Mahoney

Tom worked for 27 years as a Marine Engineer for the Washington State Ferry System. He was born in Syracuse, NY, and lived in Ontario, California, before settling in Washington State. Tom graduated from Interlake High School, attended North Seattle College, and later embarked on a career with the Washington State Ferry System. Tom loved his union brothers and sisters, and all those in dispatch.

Tom was loved by all who met him because he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. Tom brought joy and laughter to everyone he met, he was known for his great sense of humor. His smile and wit will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege to know him. Tom had many interests including cooking, music, enjoying time with family, working on mechanics and cars. He also loved the outdoors and appreciated nature and animals.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Lois Mahoney. Tom is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Ryan, Connor, and Liam; daughters, Alexie and Lois. Tom is also survived by his sisters, Melanie (Gary) Stopyra, Melody Francine Primm, April (Dan) Burton; brothers, Richard (Anne) Mahoney, Jonathan Mahoney, Edward Mahoney; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday, March 15 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Bremerton, Washington. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m., Rosary at 10:30 a.m., Funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Christian burial will be at Miller -Woodlawn Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
