Terri Yvonne Austin-Randolph

On January 27th 2021, Terri Austin-Randolph passed away. A wife, sister, mother, godmother, auntie, daughter, niece, cousin, mentor were just a few of the titles that describe her. Terri was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio to Claude Ray and Lelia Ann Austin on February 27, 1957.

She graduated from Fairview High School in 1975 and attended Tennessee State University where she majored in Electrical Engineering. She was a Co-op Student working in the Nuclear Engineering Division at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Vallejo, California. Terri met her future husband, Randy Randolph in 1977 while at Tennessee State University and she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in 1978. Terri and Randy were married in 1981 and the couple moved to Vallejo, California in 1982 where they both were employed at Mare Island Naval Shipyard.

Terri and Randy moved to Silverdale, Washington in 1994. She became a member at Silverdale Lutheran Church shortly thereafter. At Church, Terri was an active member of the Sanctuary Choir, the Altar Guild, the Worship Leaders, Barnabas Book Club, the Divas and the youth mentoring program. Terri was a light that shined in the darkness for so many people. Whether the people she met were through bowling, a mutual friend, or standing in line at the supermarket, she always had a kind word and left them feeling better about the day and themselves. God gave her the most beautiful voice for singing and she shared that gift with so many.

Terri was a mentor to many people, young and old alike, and a wise counsel. The youth at the Church would request her by name to be their mentor, so she would mentor several youth during the same time period, always being there and making time for each of them. Terri was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan, with Doug Baldwin (DB 89) being her favorite player. Terri was also a tireless advocate for social justice and welcomed the opportunity to get into “Good Trouble” as the late John Lewis would often say.

Terri is preceded in death by her father Claude Ray Austin; maternal and paternal grandparents; an aunt Tommye Anne Hawkins; and an uncle Karl Bell. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband Randy Randolph; mother, Lelia Ann Bell Austin; two sisters, Tanya Austin Maccagno Taylor (Nicholas) and Carla Austin Silvani (Raul); three nieces Natalia Silvani, Victoria Silvani; Sinai Maccagno ; one nephew Nicolas Silvani; an aunt Brenda J Minor; an uncle Spurgeon L. Williams, Jr.; cousins Pam Pleasants, Damita Minor-Hammitt (Wayne), DaShawn Minor, Spurgeon L. Williams,III, Spurgeon Tramaine Williams, Greg Franks, Marquisa Hawkins, Jeanette Winston, Edwin Bell(Rachel), and Karla Bell; other loving relatives; daughter/son of the heart Nicole and Patrick Rawlinson (Max and Sigrid); sons of the heart, Terrance Wright and Jordan Williams and many, many others who affectionately call her Mama T. Terri will live on in all of our hearts.

There will be a graveside service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 4th at Island Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Bremerton, Washington. A Memorial Service will be held in her honor in the future (July/August 2021 tentatively) as Covid restrictions ease.
