Rosalia Cruz Perez originally of Sinajana, Guam, traveled with her loving husband William Hughes Perez and their 5 children in May 1975 to Bremerton, Washington. In Bremerton, she made her new home with her family for 48 wonderful and memorable years. Rosalia passed away on Friday, 20 October 2023 at the age of 79 years old.
Rosalia is survived by her loving husband of 55 years of marriage to William Hughes Perez, their 5 children and their spouses; Peter and Donna Perez, Billy Perez and Doug Davidson, Jeffery and Kara Perez, Daphne and Patrick Porter, and Keith and Laura Perez. Rosalia's 8 grandchildren; Joseph Perez, Kilon Perez, Brenden Perez, Brooke Perez, Stone Sanchez, Laurel Sanchez, Moira Perez, Nicolette Perez, and 2 great-grandchildren; Quintin Perez, and Eliza Perez.
Rosalia was preceded in death by her father Jose Cruz, mother Rosa Cruz, brother Jose Cruz, and son-in-law Glenn Hodge.
Rosalia loved her family. She crocheted baby blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, pillows, and couch covers for her home. She also shared her love to cook and bake, Rosalia was well-known for her delicious Chamorro dishes like lumpia, kelaguen and red rice. And many times she was sought out by family and friends to bake delicious latiya, custard, lemon meringue, and apple pies for parties. Also, Rosalia enjoyed gardening, her favorite flowers were roses and orchids.
A Celebration of Life and Visitation for Rosalia will be held Wednesday, 1 November 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Out of respect for Rosalia's family's wishes 10:00 AM to 11:00 is closed for immediate family.
From 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM open to all.
