One brother, Richard George Brown predeceased him in 2013, Medford, Oregon.
Surviving are two half brothers, James Timothy Stiles and David Brian Stiles, sons of his mother’s second husband, James Monroe Stiles; two children, Kathleen MacLeod (Brown) Hanzeli (Gabriel C. Hanzeli) of Black Diamond and Douglas Stanton Brown (Becky Adams) of Anderson Island, four grandchildren, Christopher Zoltán Douglas Hanzeli (Michele Jo Hutchinson) of Seattle, Ian Gabriel MacLeod Hanzeli (Robin Catherine Dugal) of Lacey, Audrey Lynn Musselman-Brown of San Mateo, California and Madeline Elizabeth Musselman-Brown, of Seattle; nine greatgrandchildren and some nieces and nephews.
Married 31 October 1953 in Seattle, Washington, Mabel Winslow Jennerson, mother of his children, divorced 21 May 1973, Seattle. Married Alice Anderson Madlener 2 March 1974, Seattle, divorced 18 July 1978, Seattle.
Phil grew up in El Monte, California, graduated Anchorage High School 20 May 1949, came to Seattle as a young adult, worked in gas stations and grocery stores much of his adult life. Graduated from the University of Washington 21 August 1970 BA Business Administration/Accounting, received his Certified Public Accountant certificate on 21 November 1980, worked for Seattle City Light, University of Washington Athletic Department and State of Washington, received his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Real Estate in 1991 from North Seattle Community College. He traveled to many places including Antarctica, Africa, France, Italy, Russia, Spain and Viet Nam.
A Mass will be offered for Phil on Saturday, 22 January 2022, at 2:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5050 8th Ave NE, Seattle, WA. All are welcome.
