Linda Lee Talkington, 84, passed away November 19, 2024, near her home in Silverdale, following a courageous battle with lung disease.
Born May 10, 1940, in Portland to Elwood and Meryl Coslett, Linda was raised in Oregon and, after graduating from high school, she proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
She met her husband of over 60 years, Stephen Talkington, during boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. They married while stationed in Philadelphia, where she was honorably discharged.
As a devoted Navy wife, she supported her husband through multiple Vietnam tours and sea deployments while raising their three children.
A woman of diverse talents, she was an accomplished artist, writer, and successful breeder of champion Great Danes. She also maintained a lifelong passion for horse racing and politics.
Linda is survived by her husband Stephen; children Lorrie, Catherine, and Mark and their spouses; grandchildren Tony, Victoria, Brianna, Nimh, and Noah and their spouses; her siblings Kathy, Elwood, and Mary and their spouses; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service with military honors will be held in Bremerton in May. Her ashes will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery and scattered along the beach in Seaside, Oregon.
