the sixth of seven children. He grew up in a crowded house that would eventually hold seven children
and two parents. It was a home that was filled with love. With four boys and three girls, the house was
full of noise and chaos and jokes pulled on one another. All of this noise, chaos, and joking has been the
basis of many, many great stories that have come out and have generated so much laughter during adult
get togethers throughout the years!
Kenny graduated from West High School in June 1965. After graduation he worked for the summer in
Sequim, WA. In the fall he entered the US Army. He was in the 173rd D Airborne Brigade. He served in
Viet Nam for 16 months of his 2-year tour in the Army.
After returning from Viet Nam he started working for Parker Lumber in Bremerton, WA. He worked for
that company until they closed the East Bremerton Parker Lumber store and he retired. He worked for
Parker Lumber for 40 years. Kenny was well known throughout the community because of his long-time
association with the store.
Fishing and hunting were two of Kenny’s favorite hobbies. He loved to fish at Twin Lakes in Eastern WA
with his dad, his brothers, and his brother-in-law. He hunted every year in either the Olympics or locally
with his best friend Johnny Clark.
Kenny loved his sports teams and spent many hours with his family cheering the Mariners and Seahawks
and other teams on! He and his nephew were in a football betting pool and spent hours figuring out the
football odds and placing bets! It was great fun to watch him! He was a passionate fan!
Another favorite hobby of Kenny’s was woodworking. He accomplished numerous projects from his
garage at his home. He would help family build projects if they needed anything.
One of Kenny’s all-time favorite activities was going to the casino and gambling. He loved playing the
slot machines. He also loved to take advantage of the restaurant offerings.
Kenny is survived by his loving family: sister Sarah (Don), two daughters and grandchildren; brother
Steve, two sons, grandchildren; sister Marcia (Dan), two daughters, and grandchildren; greatgrandchildren;
sister Wendy (Ben), one daughter, two sons, and grandchildren; sister-in-law Geri, 3
daughters, grandchildren; great-grandchild; 3 nephews and 1 niece. He was preceded in death by his
mother and father and two brothers, Michael and David.
Kenny passed away on March 24, 2018. He was such a gentle, loving, and kind person. His passing was
so sudden and such a shock. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. He was too young…….too
young.
