Kathy was born on February 26, 1962 to Norman and Jane "Carol" Zupancic of Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from James Rhodes High School and was an avid athlete, competing in both volleyball and basketball.
After spending many wonderful years at home with her only daughter, Kathy turned to education. She joined Bremerton School District as a paraeducator and spent 20 years working with the children in her community. Kathy retired shortly before her passing.
Kathy was drawn to the beach. She traveled near and far to put her toes in the sand. She enjoyed gardening and rooting for her hometown Cleveland sports teams, known for her dedication even in the losing years. Most of all, Kathy found her greatest joy in being "Gaga" to her two granddaughters.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Norman, and mother, Jane "Carol".
She is survived by her brothers, John, Daniel, and Dennis; her husband, Todd; her daughter Brianne; and her beloved granddaughters, Lia and Maia.
Those who knew Kathy will always remember her as a caring, considerate person who lived and loved each day with her whole heart. She leaves us with the lesson about the importance of family, friendship, and the value of keeping in touch with loved ones near and far.
In honor of Kathy, please make any memorial donations to Kitsap Humane Society.
"I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death." -Robert Fulghum
