Jean was born on August 12, 1943, in Bremerton, Washington where she lived throughout her life. Jean attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic School and graduated from West High School. She worked at the Admiral Theatre in Bremerton and then as an Executive Secretary at the Insurance Company of North America in Seattle. She married her one true love, Lanny G. Ross, on October 15, 1966, and had two daughters, Lynelle and Stephanie. Her most important career choice was deciding to stay at home and raise her children. Jean was an extraordinary Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.
A woman of strong faith, Jean shared her devotion to God with her family and friends. Her daily examples of kindness, generosity, and humility exemplified God’s love and were expressed in how Jean always took loving care of her family. When her first grandchild arrived, she happily traded the peace of retirement to take care of Evan during the day until he was two years old.
Jean loved her best friend Virginia like a Sister. They were lifelong friends, and she treasured the time they spent together laughing and reminiscing. She also loved animals, especially her beloved cats Midnight and Daisy, and the many strays she cared for throughout the years.
Expressing her beautiful artistic side, Jean loved to paint ceramics when she was young and sewed many outfits and Halloween costumes for her girls. As she grew older, she would color magnificent pictures and always chose the most beautiful color combinations. An avid reader, Jean would often stay up late in order to finish her latest book. Her love of books also lead her to volunteer in the church library.
Jean/Mom/Grandma, you are forever in our hearts. We know you are with Jesus and are whole again. You probably even have a cat or two on your lap. You will be our Guardian Angel until we see you again. We love you always.
Jean is survived by her husband Lanny, daughters Lynelle (Popeye) Ehart and Stephanie (Bill) Peterson, grandchildren Evan Peterson and Rachel Ehart, her lifelong best friend Virginia Hansen, sister-in-law Shirley Ross, nieces Jeanie Hack and Melaney Watson, and nephew Mark Ross.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Helen Pierson, sister Karen Thomas and brother Bill Pierson.
