Janice Mae Jensen

Janice (Jan) Mae Jensen (Wright), born in Tacoma, Washington on August 8, 1942 to Gordon and Ethel Wright, died peacefully on February 2, 2023 at the age of 80 surrounded by her family in Silverdale, WA.

She is survived by her husband Ronald (Ron) Jensen, her loving children Scott (Starr), Allen (Lori), David (Wanda), Erin (David), and Kevin (Jenny), fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, her sister Gerry (Gary), and nieces and nephews.

Jan grew up in East Tacoma and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. From that time she experienced many adventures including raising her first three children and spending most free time in the outdoors camping, jeeping, and hiking. She enjoyed square dancing and making her own dresses and clothing for her children. Later in life Jan married her real true love Ron Jensen and combined their two families together. The love and compassionate marriage the two shared with each other over the past 43 years was quite remarkable. The two enjoyed many adventures together such as boating, fishing, diving, vacationing, and taking cruises. Jan was a lifelong devout Christian and was committed to her Christ Lutheran Church family, cherishing the many friends she made there. Community involvement and service to others was of the upmost importance to her. She was also a devoted participant in Bible Study Fellowship, having held leadership roles in that association for many years.

Jan was small in stature but larger than life itself in personality and spice. She was quick-witted, funny, and had the memory of an elephant. Jan had incredible inner strength and was able to live a full and fruitful life despite many physical challenges.

Jan is now with her heavenly Father alongside her parents and waits patiently for the rest of her family and friends to join her.

Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 3701 Northeast Northshore Road, Belfair, WA 98528. On April 29, 2023 at 1:00 PM
