Harry passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 22nd at home surrounded by his loving family. Harry
was born July 6, 1932, in Bremerton, Washington to Alex and Alma Penor. He grew up in Bremerton
and attended Bremerton High School. He was a Marine Machinist Forman, Shop 38, P.S.N.S., owned
HP Towing and Bremerton Towing and in retirement drove the courtesy van for Heartland Toyota.
He met his first wife and together they raised their family of four children: Christine Shortt (Mike),
Larry Penor, Linda Penor, Jeri Penor and foster daughter Linda (Huber) Dawson. He married Mollie
Whorrall and had five stepchildren: Kathy Keller (Joe), Tina Whorrall, Ed Whorrall (Sarah), Jamie
Heistand (Dan) and Jimmy Whorrall (Marcia). Altogether Harry had 27 grandchildren and 32 great
grandchildren.
Preceding him in death his wife, Mollie Penor, his father, mother, brothers Alex Penor and Earl Penor of Port Orchard
and his wife Mollie Penor. He is survived by his sister, Louise Moore of Oak Harbor and sisters-in-law,
Terry Penor and Maxine Penor of Port Orchard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harry was a member of the Elks 1181, Bremerton, was Past Exaulted Ruler and organized the yearly
Elks Car Show. He was also involved in many activities there. Harry enjoyed cars and restored his
1932 Ford Roadster. He was a member of the Crankers, Handlers and Saints Car Clubs. He was also
an Inductee in the Kitsap Sport Hall of Fame 2011. He also enjoyed spending time at Snow Creek
with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Bremerton Elks 1181, on Friday, July 31st at 1:00 p.m. A
graveside service will be at 10:30. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association
or the Bremerton Elks 1181.
