At the time of his passing, Mike was doing what he loved the best, which was running the business that he built over 30 years ago on a full-time basis. Prior to that, Mike worked for Pepsi for over 25 years and was in construction for many years.
Family and friends were a huge part of his life. His wife, Pam, was his high-school sweetheart, the love of his life, and his best friend. His daughter, Michelle, shared his love for hunting and cars. He was her rock and confidant. Her husband, Dan, admired Mike, called him Dad right away, and loved working by his side learning not only the trade but also the way he served others. His grandson Logan, who called him Papa, was a constant companion and hunting buddy. Mike was a father to Logan, his best friend, and his biggest fan.
He was an active member of the Brattleboro Church of Christ. His passionate service to the Body of Christ and to the community is how most will remember him.
His was lovingly known as “The Bread Man”, “The Donut Man”, “The Vegetable Man”, “The Pizza Man”, and “Sport”, just to mention a few. He touched more lives than anyone will ever know. He was a friend to anyone he met.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 2nd at the VFW in Brattleboro. Afterward, everyone is invited to a reception at the Morton home for a time of remembrance. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the River Valley Credit Union Trust Fund in the name of Pamela Morton.
