Mary Sofia Zielinski

It is with deepest sorrow that the family announces the passing of Mary Zielinski (nee Paczosa) on Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 at the Brantford General Hospital in her 81st year. Mary, beloved wife of the late Walter Zielinski; loving mother of Ted Zielinski, and Joanne and her husband Larry Varga; devoted and cherished grandma of Kira (Mark) and Greg Zielinski, and Shannon (Kyle) and Scott Varga. She is predeceased by her brother John Paczosa, and sister Mrs. Helen Kalapos. Mary is survived by her sister-in-law Mrs. Dorothy Paczosa and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Mary’s priority, first and foremost, was spending time with her four grandchildren. Mary was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, President of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Women’s League, and Chairperson of the St. Joseph’s Memorial Scholarship Fund. She was an employee of Reynolds Canada and retired from Gunther Mele. Mary was a driving force behind many of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Women’s League events, such as the Memorial Luncheons in the church hall, Penny Sales, Spring Tea, and Meals on Wheels to name a few. The family will receive friends at the THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 96 West Street, Brantford on Friday from 2 to 5 pm and 6 to 9pm with CWL Rosary at 3pm and Parish Rosary at 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Avenue, Brantford, on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00AM followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Brantford.
