At St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto on Thursday October 6, 2011 at the age of 50.
Born in St. Thomas, Darren was the son of the late Wilfrid and Audrey Allen. He is survived by his wife Carley Gregg, daughter Emma Allen-Gregg, step-daughter Amanda Gray-Sheppard, sons Andrew and Nick Allen, brothers Kevin and Steve Allen, grand daughter Hailey and several nieces and nephews. Darren worked with the public on a daily basis as a supervisor in a Collections Call Centre. An outdoors enthusiast, Darren enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, participating in many team sports while growing up including Hockey, baseball and football; later in life he found a strong love for golf. He was a passionate fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Detroit Red Wings. At Darren’s request, cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at the “Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel”, 96 West Street on Thursday October 13th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
