Clare Kipp

Passed away peacefully at Welland General Hospital on Thursday January 21st 2016 in her 103rd year. Loving wife of Nelson “Red” Kipp who predeceased her in (1976).

Dear mother of Wayne (Marylyn) Kipp of Meaford and Bruce (Pamela) Kipp of Welland. Dear grandmother of Jennifer (Reg Knudson), Cynthia Kipp ( Robert Sawyer), Cathy Kipp (Martin Tamlyn) and Stuart (Tanya) Kipp. Dearest great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren. Sister of Edna Taylor, Jack Heys, Joseph Heys and Jean Wood of Brantford. Clare was a devoted Baptist and member of Calvary and First Baptist Churches of Brantford, where she co-ordinated Meals on Wheels for many years. She was a choir member both churches and active in First Baptist Mission Circle. She enjoyed all sports and was a fanatic fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. She enjoyed bowling and was an active participant right up to the age of 97. Her favorite activity was watching her grandchildren and great- grandchildren play hockey, baseball and soccer. She seldom missed a game and as recently as January 2, 2016 was at a hockey game to watch her great grandson Hudson. She celebrated her 102nd birthday on January 3, 2016.

The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Tuesday January 26th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. then on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A Celebration of her Life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday January 27th at 11:00 am. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to First Baptist Church would be appreciated.
