William Larry Bagby

William Larry Bagby departed this earthly life peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Bagby and his parents William A. and Edna Bagby. He is survived by his four children, Rebecca Bagby, William R. Bagby (wife Lisa), Rachael Rivers and Russell Bagby, as well as his four grandchildren William, Benjamin and Eleanor Bagby and Ryland Rivers. Larry was a proud veteran who retired with the rank of Major after having served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. Following his military career he worked for Port Tampa Bay, retiring as the Operations Superintendent after 20 years. Larry was an amateur photographer, an elaborate storyteller, a walking encyclopedia and, most importantly, a devoted Christian. He faithfully served in various roles at Brandon First Church of the Nazarene and later Sydney First Church of God. Larry would want everyone to know Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23 and Romans 10:9.

A visitation for Larry will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sydney First Church of God, 1432 Sydney Dover Road, Dover, Florida 33527, with a funeral service immediately following from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The service will also be available as a Facebook Live Stream at https://www.facebook.com/SydneyFirstCOG.

Directly after there will be a celebration of life reception at The Winthrop Barn Theatre, 11349 Bloomingdale Avenue Riverview FL 33578.

A committal service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Highway 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
