Smiles may be contagious but Ruth’s smile was infectious. Her ability to light up a room and connect with anyone she met, allowed her to create lifelong bonds after only an initial introduction. She could (and would) talk politics with anyone, play soulful music at her treasured piano, and vehemently rooted for her teams, especially the Cleveland Browns and Florida Gators. Win or lose, Ruth always flashed her dazzling smile and reminded us all that life is more important than a game. She fought breast cancer, after being diagnosed at only 35, for longer and more fiercely than any person could be expected. The depths of her caring for strangers in need, animals (pets and otherwise) was only eclipsed by the love she had for her two daughters and husband for which she fought so steadfastly. She persevered when many of us would have quit, transcending to a revered symbol depicting the struggle in life with effortless grace and a wide smile.
Ruthie leaves behind her beloved husband, Brian White; two daughters, Fia 11 and Luna 9; parents, Lindsay and Jane Frame; sister Sarah Sloat, beloved aunt to Kara Stevens 14, Evelyn Sloat 5, Sofia Sloat 3, Delaney White 10, Miles White 12.
