Roxann was born in Tampa on September 18, 1946 to Dorothy and Charles Stevens.
Roxann attended Hillsborough High School and spent much of her career working at Tampa Jai-Alai, Derby Lane Greyhound Park and Ebro Greyhound Park. She lived most of her life in Seminole Heights. After a brief move and working in the Florida Panhandle for four years, she moved back to the Tampa Bay area and settled near Brandon.
From an early age, Roxann enjoyed boating, water sports, fishing and all the activities living near the Hillsborough River and Tampa Bay afforded her. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining and often hosted parties for her friends, family and colleagues.
Roxann is survived by her partner of 26 years, Billy Marteliz; daughter, M. Asune Laca; son-in-law, Chris Gans; grandson, Jack Gans; sister-in-law, Gail Stevens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Stevens and Dorothy (Hess) Stevens and brother, Craig Stevens.
A funeral service for Roxann will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Florida. Interment to follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 4228 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
