Rodrick "Rod" Michael Elliott passed away on February 25, 2022, at 82. Rod was born December 17th 1939 to his parents Paul Clovis Elliott and Louise Elliott in CA. He is survived by his siblings Dayle Ivy and Dennis Elliott. He also leaves behind his wife Sharon, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rod married his beloved, Sharon, 44 years ago. Together they loved and cherished five children, Chris and wife Marni, Courtney and wife Lisa, Richard, Kecia and husband Kent, and Tina and fiance Brian.
Rod retired from Tampa Technical Institute in 2003 after many years of teaching Radio Frequency communications and Operation Amplifier design. He was a respected teacher, lecturer, and advisor to students and faculty. Rod was also a wonderful grandfather to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved watching the grandkids grow up, and one of his favorite things was to watch them become adults. He also loved to tell stories about his experiences and rattle off random facts, all the more fun because the stories were true much of the time! It turns out he had been there or done that more often than not! Besides his family, his passions were planes and trains. He loved to indulge his fascination with flying by designing and building RC planes. Upon completion, he often "accidentally" crashed them, probably to start creating a new one. Rod loved learning and could usually be found at the computer researching, learning, following rabbit trails, and keeping up to date with his diverse interests. He battled health challenges for several years, showing dignity and fortitude. His humor and love for his family kept him engaged, inquisitive, and laughing. He is loved and will be missed greatly.
