Richard was born on April 24,1959 to William Hoyt Haywood and Edna Russ in Lumberton, North Carolina.
In 2004, he met Rose Contreras, and they wed in 2005, going on to have 1 child, Nikki Haywood.
After retiring in 2022 from his long time of dump truck driving and wreaking havoc in Riverview, Richard spent his time fishing, boating, listening to his music in the man cave, taking his “old man” naps, traveling in his buggy around the neighborhood. He also was one of the best pool sharks around Riverview back in the day. His love of wheeling and dealing was like nothing you could even imagine, he was able sell water to a fish and could turn a penny into a dollar! He really did love his family and friends.
Richard was predeceased by his dad, Hoyt Haywood and brother Ray Haywood. He is survived by his mother, Edna Haywood, sisters Debra Gause and Alisa Bryant, children, Amy Haywood, April Haywood, Richard Haywood, Nikki Haywood and stepchildren Leah Summerall and Taylor Summerall, grandchildren Tyler Kellihan, Zoe Hyatt, Alexzia Rodriguez, Reese Knight and Amber Ellerbee.
