ZIEHL, Mary Helen "Terry", 88, died February 7, 2011. Born in St. Paul, Minn., she moved to Tampa in 1963, then to New York, Michigan, England, and Massachusetts before returning to Valrico, Fl. Terry had worked part- time at Maas Brothers in Tampa and St. Petersburg, but she always considered her primary and most rewarding role to be a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and gardener. She had volunteered her services for the Democratic Party, League of Women Voters, Meals on Wheels, ECHO and the Center Place bookstore, and had been active in the Newcomer’s Club, Opinionated Ladies, and the Gourmet Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn and William Horan; her wonderful and loving husband of 65 years, William "Bill"; daughter, Barbara Jean Santana; and brother, Jim Horan. Survivors include her daughter, Pat Smith (Smitty); daughter Kathy Piscusa (Richard); son William A. "WAZ" Ziehl; brother, Bill Horan (Hilda); brother, Jack Horan and six grandchildren: Jacquelyn Isajar, Jonathan Santana, Mark Smith, Kainoa Piscusa, Nell Greenlin, Emily Ziehl; and four great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend appreciation to her brother, Bill Horan, LifePath Hospice, Delaney Creek Lodge, and Hawthorne Health and Rehab for their assistance with Terry’s care. Visitation is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Stowers Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on February 11, 2011 at Garden of Memories where she will remain “together forever” with her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LifePath Hospice.
