Lester J. Michaud, age 86, St. Augustine, Florida. Lester Michaud passed away peacefully September 15, 2022 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Eagle Lake, Maine to Docite Michaud and Modeste (Deschane) Michaud. Les entered the Air Force in 1953 from Old Town, Maine where he began an extensive military career and also graduated from the University of Tennessee. He was recognized for his outstanding contributions to Strategic Air Command of the 379th bomber wing, completed Intelligence Officer training at Gunter AFB in Alabama, USAF Air University. Les was also involved in Civilian Law and was an Intel Operations Specialist, recognized with honor in the 89th Military Airlift Wing at Andrews AFB, Washington, D.C. He was also a member of the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing and selected as part of a distinguished group to protect the President. His professionalism and resourcefulness gained him well-deserved respect and admiration of superiors, peers and subordinates. He exemplified the highest standards of an Air Force Officer.
Les was preceded in death by former wife, Zula Rhea Michaud of Brandon, Florida, his granddaughter Renee Michaud DeMarco, Brandon, Florida and son, Dan Allen Michaud of Gibsonton, Florida. He leaves behind wife, Alyce Michaud, St. Augustine, Fl., daughter Kathy Ferlita, Brandon, Florida, granddaughters Kristina Cole and Amy Reitzfeld, great-granddaughter Jessilyn and great great grandchildren, Renee and Onyx.
Les will be remembered for his hard work well into his 80s, dedication and generosity to family, a mentor to those that sought his guidance and advice, a friend to all and a loving and devoted husband.
