Larry was born on October 30, 1946, in Pineville, Kentucky to Howard Leonard and Lois Miller. Larry spent his youth traveling with his father in the Army. He later joined the Air Force and did some traveling of his own. Larry lived in many different locations including Alaska, Spain, and England, just to name a few. This gave Larry many, many stories to tell, most of which started with, "When I was in Spain...".
Larry started his career in the Air Force in 1964 where he worked on airplanes as an Electronic Technician. After retiring from the Air Force in 1985 as a master sergeant, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in General Business. He continued to use his skills in various positions until he fully retired in 2017 from the United States Post Office. He was a self-proclaimed "Jack of all trades, master of none". He truly could fix, repair, build, design, create anything put in front of him.
Larry enjoyed watching movies, reading, playing cards, and watching his grandsons play hockey. Larry always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. And he would always go out of his way to help anyone with anything.
Larry is survived by his wife, Janice Leonard; his daughters, Stacey Leonard and Amy Smargon; his son-in-law, Jeff Smargon; his grandsons, Colin Smargon, Alex Smargon, and Luca Smargon; his sister, Peggy Cremeans, her husband, Virgil, and their children, Tara and Kraig; and close family, Kevin and Brenda Goddeau, and their children, Ashlee and Kasey.
